install PUBG Mobile on a smartphone without internet
PUBG Mobile is one of the most popular mobile games available on the App Store and Google Play Store. The game is very popular from the day of its release as it brings console experience to cell phones. Now, since most of us stayed indoors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the popularity of this game has increased a lot as it has become a way to entertain and keep in touch with friends.

The game is great fun and you can play it for hours at a time. One of the problems that an enthusiastic PUBG Mobile gamer can point out is that the game is roughly 1.8 GB in size. This is if you don't have an unlimited WiFi plan in your home, it will make you run out of data limits very soon.

We smartphone reviewers often encounter this issue as we have to install it on every phone presented to us for review. Doing this each time leaves us with a small amount of data to use throughout the day. This led us to an alternative solution to install PUBG Mobile without using the Internet.

With this trick, you can get PUBG Mobile on your phone without spending up to one megabyte of mobile data. However, this method requires you to have a friend, who already has the latest version of the game on her smartphone.

How to install PUBG Mobile without internet

Before getting started, you must download and install a file transfer agent like Superbeam or Files by Google. You will also need to have the same file sharing client installed on your friend's phone. After doing this, follow the specified steps.

  • Transfer PUBG Mobile APK file from your friend's device and install it on your smartphone.
  • After installation is complete, open the app and let it try searching for files online to create local folders on your smartphone.
  • After you find files on the Internet, close the application.
  • Now, from your friend's phone, transfer the obb files to your phone. Locate this heading in Files> Android> obb (folder). In the Cobb folder, you will need to open the "com.tencent.ig" folder and select the file "main.11460.com.tencent.ig.obb" and send it to your phone. The file name may vary depending on the version of the game.
  • After transferring obb files, you need to move the "com.tencent.ig" folder to your smartphone, found under Files> Android> Data.
